More "Good News".

Kila and I went for a walk on 11-November. It was raining. We walked along the east bank of the Berkeley Aquatic Park. It was very peaceful. Then we went up to Melissa & Jim's house in Richmond and sadly, I had to leave Kila there for the next few weeks. But I did manage to take some great pictures!

Well, my beautiful iMac is in the shop being fixed. I started having problems with email last week (which is why I've been slow to respond thereto) and at the same time, the optical drive doesn't seem to be functioning as reliably as I'd prefer. So I took it to the San Fransisco Apple Store yesterday and spent the afternoon demonstrating the subtle problems, until finally, at around eight last night, they understood and said they'd replace my optical drive (for free) but it'd be away for 10 days. So I have very little access to the net for the next two weeks.

Kila has been staying up in Richmond for a couple weeks and today, I thought I'd go and get her. Since yesterday was my birthday (I'm 43 now) I bought myself a new camera phone. The phone has a very low quality camera but it turns out to be just about the exact resolution that I can see. So here are some pictures that I took along the way so you can get a pretty good idea of what my eyesight actually is. Neat, eh?

What a blast! I spent the day at the 11th annual Bay Area Siberian Husky Club Ice Creme Social. (Yes, they have separate ice creme for the people, too). Here are the pictures I took. Melissa & Jim gave me a ride home. lots of fuzzy doggles.

It's nice to hear some good news every now and again. It gives me hope. And here is yet more good news! And this last one, I call, "Man bites dog". Very sweet.

At last! Stephanie and I have worked hard most of last night and today and finally the new server is up and (mostly) operating. It is running WebStar 5 on Mac OS X. There are still some bugs, but there is now no longer daily immenent danger of running out of disk space just because of people's email messages.
