How to fight government corruption in the United States

2017 Ben D. Weiss

What can we, as individuals, do to fight against our corrupt government today? Since they've not only co-opted much of the bureaucracy that runs our country, but also the news media, there are only a few additional things you are going to need for you and your family to live besides what you'd expect. This list is also very helpful if the US Government Collapses.

  1. Grow your own food

This is the most important step anyone can take to help gaurd all of us against a hostile takeover by autocratic sources. Buy some land. Build and maintain a shelter and put together your own energy systems. Dig a well. Grow food. Try to become self-reliant. It isn't necessary for you to do everything you need for your own survival, but whatever you do, get good enough at it so you have excess to share with your neighbors and trade for the things you don't have or can't do. This will prepare you if ever there comes a time when money no longer succeeds at getting those things.

  2. Become friendly with your local law enforcement personnel.

If the government (which has already been co-opted by crooks) ever wants to come and take your stuff or imprison or kill you, they're very likely to use the already existing police or sheriff's personnel. Become friends with those people so that they know they can count on you and so- hopefully, if it ever becomes important -you can count on them, too.

Here in Lake County, California, there've been "Coffee with a Cop" meetings. This is exactly what these are for. As soon as I find a link to an upcoming one, I'll post it here.

  3. Start bartering and using bitcoin and other decentralized currencies.

US Dollars and other paper monies are of no intrinsic value unless people give them value and, even then, banks must be available to clear non-cash transactions. Avoid banks. Use cash. Online, use bitcoin or other digital currencies to allow direct payments without the need for a bank to clear the transaction. Get back into the habbit of Barter whenever possible. If your life and livelyhood doesn't depend on government structures, than it is much more difficult to manipulate you indirectly. The more of us that do this, the less relevant their systems of control over us become.

  4. Get a Ham Radio License and learn to use it.

This will not only give you the education to set up important communication systems between you and your neighbors and community, but also provide for a way for us all to be in touch in case the telephone system becomes unavailable. Remember, six corporations own almost all newspapers, radio and television stations. You need to cultivate alternative means of learning what's going on around the state, the country and the world.

  5. Learn about Open Source Ecology and The Global Village Construction Set

"The Global Village Construction Set (GVCS) is a modular, DIY, low-cost, high-performance platform that allows for the easy fabrication of the 50 different Industrial Machines that it takes to build a small, sustainable civilization with modern comforts. We're developing open source industrial machines that can be made at a fraction of commercial costs, and sharing our designs online for free."

  6. Create a Mesh network for your neighborhood

Mesh networks are an alternative (usually wifi based) internet which can be created ad-hoc on the fly without expensive unusual equipment by normal mortals to allow people to use standard internet based technologies for email, two-way video communication, social networks and other ways of sharing and discussing issues. In order for the NSA to listen in, they either have to install a backdoor in one of your local network nodes or your local mesh network needs to be connected to the rest of the internet. Depending on how things work out, that may or may not be appropriate. YMMV.

  7. Choose Peace within yourself.

Television News wants you to be afraid so they bias their reporting to make you feel unsafe and afraid. Don't buy into that. Fear makes people forget who they are. Fear makes you censor yourself and your activism. They do this precisely because they're afraid of our activism. That's why the police have become so draconian.

This is the most difficult and most important step of all. Choose how you perceive the world. Make choices in your personal life to promote your exposure to people and events and media which are joyful. Choose to be influenced by calm and joyful experiences. Everything that happens to you, changes you. Choose to become the person you wish most to be. Engineer situations for your life so that you are more often exposed to loving joyful people and experiences than those which aren't. Minimize your exposure to toxic, angry or violent thoughts, dreams and goals and, especially, stress.
