Lectures in my Political Science 101 class are now available online for your listening pleasure. Furthermore, I wrote notes on them and posted those as well.

I have also posted the lectures from Philosophy 156 Reasoning and Critical Thinking as well as Philosophy 101 Political Philosophy and Sociology 101.

Nothing to say

I used to have time to think of interesting things to say in a blog, but now that I'm in school, I don't have time to think for myself. What does this say about so-called higher education?

A Lazy Day
Saturday, October 15, 2005, 12:35 AM - School, Macintosh
It appears that we get a day off school because it is the middle of the semester today. Spent the whole day inside setting up new toys on loan from the commission for the Blind. In particular, an HP ScanJet 5590 Duplex auto-document fed scanner and an HP LaserJet 1320 Printer . Took the opportunity to clean up my main machine and reinstall system software. Everything works better and I mysteriously gained another 10 gigabytes of space on my hard disk. Guess I should do that more often!

Something to say
Saturday, October 1, 2005, 12:27 AM - School
So just to exercise my HTML and PHP skills, I will try to keep a blog for a few days. I am currently studying at the University of New Mexico. I flunked out of Engineering school here 25 years ago. Now I'm going to try to get a BS in Physics with a minor in Foreign Languages and then attempt to get into UNM Law school. We'll see.

In the mean time, this semester sees me taking Russian and French Conversation and Latin Dancing at UNM and English 102 and Math 120 at TVI. I'm doing pretty badly in French class. There are two reasons for this. The first is our estemed professor, Takako, prefers to assign reading of new material and then go over it in class afterwards. This doesn't work for me, as my reading skills -even in English- suck. The second more serious problem is that she speaks during class -for the most part- only in French. This is a big problem.

So I've dropped out of French 101 (although I'm still in French 103) and I'll pick up Communication and Journalism 130, & Public Speaking instead. Should be fun.

Math is still so easy it's not yet worth writing about. But here's my schedule: Monday, Wednesday and Friday: Russian 101, Dance 124 at UNM. Tuesday & Thursday: English 102 and Math 120 at TVI. Mondays, French 103.
